Learn the art
Rimini on display. Views of Rimini: a journey through the museum and the city
He comes to the tenth edition of the course "Learn the art", the now traditional event sponsored by the Municipal Museum of Rimini as part of training activities aimed at teachers.
The theme for the 2012 edition is the representation of the city. A fascinating theme, which aims to show how over the centuries, Rimini has been its urban structure and the main monuments. If the only surviving work of the Roman period is the famous mosaic of the boats to the port of Rimini, the famous bas-relief of cancer in the Malatesta Temple is the first urban view. The technique that has effectively conveyed the image of the city was the press: from the sixteenth century, leading cartographers and engravers have made extraordinary plants and views of Rimini, especially using the etching. Bird's-eye images, precise in describing the urban and landscape context, as both works circulated as a separate illustration of that printed books.
As usual, the course is divided into four sessions, on Wednesdays from February 22 to March 14, which include conversations with slide show and guided tours: they will not be addressed only to admire the works exhibited in the museum, but is open to places of art and culture in major cities, such as the Library Long Legs, keeper of a rich and precious heritage of urban scenes.
The training will be conducted by Michela Cesarini, an art historian who works in the teaching of Museums and has also edited the previous edizioni.Torna
